Luján de Cuyo IG Malbec Las Compuertas 2013 Terrazas de los Andes
Description
Malbec Las Compuertas comes to light from the vine of the same name, located in the famous Luján de Cuyo area of Mendoza, Argentina, at an altitude of 1,067 meters above sea level, to which it enjoys an extremely favorable exposure to maturation and to the aromatic development of the grapes.
Fruit of only Malbec, the wine follows a traditional type of winemaking, and then ages for 16-18 months in new French oak barrels.
It has an intense purple color, with purple nuances. On the nose it reveals a surprising combination of intensity and cleanliness, in which hints of blueberry, plum and red fruit in jam stand out, reached later by notes of black pepper, bay leaf and cinnamon. The palate is broad and deep, with evident sensations of black fruit and velvety tannins, which elegantly complete the overall complexity of the taste experience.
Excellent as an accompaniment to meat, especially to furred game such as deer or wild boar.
