Description
What kind of wine is it
Marsannay Les Longeroies La Murée from Domaine Bruno Clair is a red Burgundy wine made from Pinot Noir, designed to highlight the fruit and a balanced structure. Vinification with a portion of partially whole clusters and aging in oak barrels create a fresh and elegant style, with fine tannins and a precise profile.
Where does it come from
It originates in Marsannay, Burgundy, from grapes grown on clay-limestone soils. The Les Longeroies plot enjoys a southeast exposure, which encourages regular and complete ripening. This setting helps preserve aromatic finesse and a vibrant palate texture, consistent with the identity of Pinot Noir.
How it is made
Fermentation involves a portion of partially whole grapes, a choice that adds complexity and shapes the tannic structure. A 10–15 day maceration on the skins follows, carefully extracting color and aromas without overpowering the wine. The wine is then aged for 18 months in oak barrels, some of which are new, imparting a measured contribution that allows the varietal character to shine.
Tasting notes
In the glass it shows a bright ruby red color. The nose offers raspberry and strawberry hints, accented by vanilla and a floral note reminiscent of hibiscus. On the palate, it is smooth and fresh, with fine tannins and a clean finish echoing the red fruit and delicate nuances.
Food pairings
It is at its best with game meats and red meats, where freshness and tannins complement the succulence of the dish. It is particularly effective with beef-based main courses, especially where the Pinot Noir’s subtle texture is enhanced without overpowering spiciness.
When to serve it
It is ideal for dinners where you want an elegant, fruit-focused red to accompany meat dishes. A short aeration in a wide glass will help integrate the fruit and oak aromas. Its freshness and the fine tannin structure make it enjoyable even now.
