Mendoza IG Malbec Catena Alta 2019 Catena Zapata
Description
The Malbec Catena Alta di Catena Zapata comes from the grapes of the vineyards located all between 950 and 1450 meters above sea level, in Argentina.
Malbec grapes are harvested at different times to reach optimal ripeness. Both fermentations take place in wooden barrels with indigenous yeasts. The grapes undergo a cold maceration for 5 days, and, once pressed, the must obtained is fermented for 12 days with a post-fermentation maceration of 19-22 days. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.
In the glass it has a deep ruby color. The nose is expressed with aromas of violets, blueberries and cassis, coffee and spices. The sip is warm and soft, with a persistent finish.
To be paired with roasted meats and aged cheeses.
