Description

What kind of wine is it

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Cantina Tollo is a red wine made exclusively from Montepulciano grapes. It has a full-bodied character, with good structure and well-integrated tannins, making it a full, approachable red. It belongs to the winery's Organic line.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from vineyards in the municipality of Tollo, in the province of Chieti, in the heart of Abruzzo. Here, a Montepulciano takes shape that expresses the area's identity, with pure fruit and a straightforward sip.

How it is made

The Montepulciano grapes are harvested and selected entirely by hand in October. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, preserving the purity of the aromas, while maturation continues in concrete tanks. This approach keeps the wine true to the fruit, with no interference from wood.

Tasting notes

It shows a bright purple color. The nose opens with aromas of violet, wild berries and licorice. On the palate it is full, with sweet, velvety tannins and a good structure that carries the sip through to the finish.

What to pair it with

It is ideal with cured meats, pasta with savory meat sauces, roasts and semi-aged cheeses. Its structure and the softness of the tannins make it suitable for boldly flavored dishes from home cooking.

When to serve it

It's a versatile red for everyday meals and convivial tables, when you're after honest flavors and a wine that's ready to drink, without any special serving fuss. A wide-bowled glass enhances its violet and wild-berry aromas.
