Description

The Morellino di Scansano Lohsa by Poliziano is a wine that reflects the proximity to the sea and the rich skeletal structure of its soils, composed of galestro and sandstone, originating from vineyards located at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level with a south/south-west exposure.

It is mainly made from Sangiovese grapes with additions of Ciliegiolo, all harvested by hand. The must ferments in steel for 15-20 days with skin maceration. The wine is then aged partly in wooden barrels and partly in steel tanks before bottling.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color. The aromatic profile is dominated by notes of cherry, morello cherry, violet, thyme, and vanilla. The palate is warm, enjoyable, and harmonious, with great pleasantness and persistence.

It pairs well with traditional first courses and cheeses, and is perfect alongside grilled red meats.
