Description

What kind of wine it is

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Madonna della Querce by Dei is a structured red wine made from Sangiovese grapes. Vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature and an extended maceration on the skins. The subsequent aging in large barrels gives the wine a solid ageing potential. The fine tannic texture and persistence define a deep profile, representing the direct expression of its territory of origin.

Where it comes from

This wine comes from the La Piaggia vineyard, located in the Montepulciano area at 370 meters above sea level. The soils of Pliocene origin, characterized by the presence of tufaceous clays and sands, promote a pronounced mineral perception in the glass. The altitude of the plots contributes to balance and aromatic definition, thus ensuring an expressive depth faithful to the local identity of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

How it is produced

The production process begins with a manual selection of the grapes, followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in steel at temperatures between 26 and 28 °C, accompanied by a 30-day maceration with frequent pump-overs to ensure proper extraction of color and tannins. Aging continues for at least 20 months in large barrels and ends with a period of bottle rest to consolidate its overall harmony.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows an intense and deep ruby red color. The aromatic profile is ample and opens with clear scents of mature red fruit and jam, enriched by spicy nuances. On the palate, it is distinguished by an ethereal entry and a long, mineral progression. The sip is supported by dense and elegant tannins, which give structure and close in a consistent and persistent finish.

Food pairings

The structured texture of this wine makes it ideal to accompany red meat dishes, enhancing rich sauces and long-cooked preparations of Tuscan tradition. It pairs perfectly with braised game, like wild boar, where the persistence of the sip balances the savoriness of the meat. Excellent also with aged cheeses, which can engage in balance with its fruity and spicy notes.

When to serve it

It is the recommended choice for lunches and dinners requiring a red with complexity and precision. Thanks to meticulous maturation in wood and glass, it has excellent aging potential and is also well suited for delayed consumption after further cellaring. It impeccably accompanies structured tables and best expresses the balance between dense tannins and mineral elegance.
