Passito di Pantelleria DOC Bukkuram Sole d'Agosto 2015 Marco De Bartoli
Description
The Passito di Pantelleria Bukkuram Sole d'Agosto from the Marco de Bartoli winery comes from vineyards located in the heart of the island of Pantelleria, in the Bukkuram district, whose name in Arabic means "father of the vineyard". This area was considered particularly suited to the cultivation of vines, and in particular of the zibibbo, already at the time of the Arab occupation.
It is produced exclusively with Zibibbo grapes, harvested only by hand between the second week of August and the first week of September. The grapes dry in the sun for 2 weeks and ferment for 3 months until a balanced ratio between the alcoholic component and the sugar residue is obtained. Subsequently the wine ages in stainless steel tanks for 6 months and for further 6 months in barrique.
It is characterized by a golden yellow color, with amber shades. The nose opens with notes of ginger and bergamot, enriched with pleasant salty hints. On the palate it is refreshing, elegant and with a long floral finish.
Perfect to accompany dry sweets and pastries, it is ideal in combination with chocolate.
