Description

Raccontami is a Primitivo di Manduria produced by Vespa Vignaioli, made exclusively from Primitivo grapes grown as bush vines on clay soils in the Manduria region. The vineyards, with an average age of over fifty years, yield grapes of great concentration and personality, resulting in a wine with an intense, smooth, and enveloping character, an authentic expression of Apulian winemaking tradition.

The winemaking process involves a long maceration on the skins with frequent punch-downs and a partial use of the saignée technique to enhance structure and concentration. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques, followed by twelve months of aging in Never and Tronçais French oak barrels, which bestow elegance, complexity, and perfect harmony to the wine.

In the glass, it displays a deep, intense ruby red color. The nose reveals aromas of ripe wild berries, sweet spices, and delicate toasted notes. On the palate, it is full, velvety, and smooth, supported by substantial structure, well-integrated tannins, and a long, persistent, and pleasantly balanced finish.

It pairs well with roasted meats, braised dishes, game, grilled meats, aged cheeses, and many traditional Italian recipes with rich and flavorful tastes.
