Description
What kind of wine is it
Primitivo di Manduria Lu Rappaio by Masca del Tacco is a red wine made from Primitivo grapes grown in Apulia. It features a full-bodied and structured style, with a soft and rounded profile. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, followed by aging in steel and barrels of different woods.
Where does it come from
Lu Rappaio originates in the Manduria area, in Apulia, on flat lands rich in iron and limestone, influenced by the sea breezes of the Ionian Sea.
How is it produced
Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled steel vats. Aging proceeds in steel and barrels of different woods, where contact with the wood softens the tannins and enriches the aromatic profile.
Tasting notes
The color is an intense ruby red with violet highlights. On the nose, there are notes of violet, wild blackberry, ripe strawberries, and rosemary. The palate entry is soft, tannins are round and well-integrated, the acidity is balanced, and the finish is long with recurring fruity sensations.
Pairings
This Primitivo di Manduria pairs well with dishes featuring mushrooms, roasts, and grilled meats. It is also suitable for aged Apulian cheeses and dishes with rich meat ragù, offering great versatility at the table.
When to serve it
It can be enjoyed in the first years after bottling and develops further aromatic complexity with time.
