Description

Grandes Lindes de Remelluri is a special selection within the Lindes de Remelluri project, conceived by Telmo Rodríguez to highlight the villages bordering the historic Remelluri estate in the Rioja Alavesa. Each wine in the range represents a single village, showcasing its geological and climatic specifics. San Vicente de La Sonsierra is a red wine created as a tribute to Jesusa Areta, the historic winemaker of the winery, obtained from a blend of native grape varieties: Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo, cultivated in a vineyard over 100 years old on terraces with sandy soil covering just 1.5 hectares. The grapes are grown using artisanal practices without chemical products.

The production process begins with manual harvesting, traditional de-stemming, and crushing. The must ferments in open wood barrels, followed by 14 months of aging in small French oak barrels.

The nose reveals aromas of raspberries, strawberries, and ripe red cherries, with a tart touch that adds liveliness. On the palate, it presents as concentrated silk, with hints of delicate marzipan, a whisper of licorice, and soft chocolate. This wine is characterized by fine and distinct elegance, offering surprising and delightful intensity while maintaining a subtle and refined profile.

Ideal when paired with red meats, game, or charcuterie.
