Description
Marrañones Picarana is a white wine made exclusively from Albillo Real grapes grown in parcels scattered among the heights of the Sierra de Gredos, within the Marañones estate. The vineyards, situated between 750 and 850 meters above sea level, are characterized by granitic soils and a respectful viticulture aimed at enhancing varietal purity. The vines, grown in bush form and distributed in small plots, are between 30 and 70 years old and produce low yields, giving rise to a balanced wine rich in nuances.
The harvest is carried out manually in crates. The selected clusters are pressed whole and fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in used and new oak barrels. Aging continues for 10 months on its own lees in wood, without filtration or clarification, respecting the wine's integrity.
In appearance, it is straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, it reveals delicate aromas of white flowers, yellow-fleshed fruit, and citrus notes, accompanied by light mineral nuances. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, and well balanced, with an enveloping texture and a long, harmonious finish.
Ideal with grilled fish dishes or shellfish.
