Description
Santenay 1er Cru Passetemps by Olivier Leflaive is a red wine made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, on limestone and clay soils with a south-east exposure that ensures balanced ripening and a good concentration of aromas. The vineyards, managed according to sustainable practices and harvested by hand, fully express the character of the terroir.
The winemaking process includes total destemming of the grapes and fermentation in open vats, followed by a long aging period in oak barrels with a brief final stage in stainless steel to harmonize the wine’s profile.
On the nose, it opens with intense and enveloping aromas of figs and stone fruits such as plum; on the palate, it is structured, deep and velvety, with an enveloping texture and slightly spicy, woody notes leading to a long and complex finish.
It pairs perfectly with roast meats, stuffed poultry and savoury dishes.
