Saumur Champigny AOC La Marginale 2013 Thierry Germain - Domaine des Roches Neuves

The Marginale of Roches de Neuves rises from vineyards located in Les Dares de Chaintres and from the small plot of old vineyards of Les Poyeux, in the heart of the AOC Saumur Champigny. Viticulture is practiced in a biological and biodynamic regime.

It is obtained only from Cabernet Franc grapes, which ferment in wooden vats with maceration on the skins for 22-24 days. It passes to malolactic fermentation, then to aging which takes place in barriques for 12 months.

The eye is a beautiful intense ruby red. During the olfactory examination it offers splendid notes of black currant and blackberry, enriched with pleasant hints of peony, rose and cinnamon. In the mouth the entrance is powerful and conveys all the character of the terroir, with an intense fruity charge and a rich and clean finish.

A wine for the whole meal, it goes well with all red meat dishes.
