Description
Nero d'Avola Terre del Sommacco by Mandrarossa is produced from vineyards in the Menfi area, characterized by calcareous soils.
The harvest takes place during the first week of September. After harvesting, the grapes undergo fermentation with skin maceration for 6-8 days in stainless steel at a temperature of 22-25°C. The wine matures for 8 months in cement tulips and 19 months in large barrels, followed by 8 months of bottle aging.
It displays an intense ruby red color with violet hues. The bouquet recalls the aroma of blackberry and cherry. On the palate, it offers a fresh and immediate sip, with delicate tannins.
This is a wine for braised meats and stews, including game, but it also enhances medium-aged cheeses.
