Description
Terebinto by Planeta is made exclusively from Grillo grapes, a Sicilian variety born from the crossing of Zibibbo and Catarratto, and a longstanding protagonist of the Mediterranean landscape. The vineyards are located in the Menfi area, between the Monte Cirami and Gurra districts, on soils with different compositions and altitudes, which contribute to expressing complexity and character. Grown according to organic farming principles, this wine offers an authentic and sustainable interpretation of one of Sicily’s most representative white varieties.
The grapes are hand-harvested and quickly brought to the winery, where they undergo destemming and gentle pressing. The must is kept at a low temperature for several days before fermentation, which takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve the grape variety’s aromatic integrity. After fermentation, the wine matures in stainless steel on fine lees, with regular stirring to enhance its structure and complexity while maintaining freshness and expressive precision.
It displays a bright canary yellow color. On the nose, it reveals an intense and original aromatic profile, with notes of pineapple, white melon, apple, and prickly pear, enriched by hints of mandarin and floral nuances of wisteria and jasmine. On the palate it is fresh and vibrant, supported by a pleasant sapidity and a harmonious balance that gives impetus and persistence.
Ideal with seafood crudit E9s, sea urchin pasta, fried fish and vegetables, swordfish or seared tuna rolls; it pairs elegantly with fresh cheeses and vegetable dishes served with pinzimonio.
