Description
Pietro Nero Toscana IGT is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, coming from the most suitable areas of the Maremma and characterized by clayey soils with silt and fine skeleton.
After harvesting between the third and fourth week of September, the wine ferments for at least 10–14 days in small wooden barrels before carrying out the malolactic fermentation in 2nd or 3rd passage tonneaux. This is followed by a maturation of 6–8 months in French oak tonneaux before a subsequent ageing of at least 6 months in the bottle.
Very intense and almost impenetrable ruby red colour, it has notes of red fruits such as blackcurrant and cherry on the nose, immediately followed by light spiciness and dry herbs. Warm on the palate, it offers soft tannins, consistent fruity notes attenuated by woody scents that allow for cleanliness and pleasant persistence.
It goes well with roasts and red meats in general, savoury first courses and aged cheeses.
