Toscana IGT Modus 2016 Ruffino
Description
The Toscana Rosso Modus di Ruffino was born in the vineyards located in the Tenute di Poggio Casciano and Santedame.
It is produced with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The harvest begins with Merlot in late August, continues with Sangiovese and ends in late September with Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation takes place separately for the three varieties in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for 10 days. Subsequently the wine ages in oak barriques for 12 months and for a further 6 months in bottle before being put on the market.
It is a wine characterized by an intense ruby red color, with violet reflections. The nose opens with an intense and intriguing bouquet of ripe cherries, plums and small black berry fruits, enriched with pleasant spicy notes of mint and tobacco. On the palate it is structured and harmonious, characterized by tannins of great finesse, enhanced by a pleasant freshness. The wine has a persistent finish with an aftertaste of black berried fruits and cocoa.
Perfect to accompany red meats and game, it is ideal in combination with game and aged cheeses.
