Description
What kind of wine it is
The Toscana Rosso by Pian del Prete is a Tuscan red wine made from a blend of red grape varieties. Its character is balanced and structured, with freshness accompanying a supple, persistent palate. The long maturation lends it complexity and harmony, without losing the wine’s fruit clarity.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Tuscany and are selected according to the originating parcel. The harvest is by hand, with bunch selection to ensure the highest quality of the fruit. The blend composition changes with each season, to achieve a balanced wine every time.
How it is made
The bunches are hand-picked and carefully sorted. The wine ages for 24 months in concrete and stainless-steel tanks, developing complexity and harmony while preserving freshness and fruit clarity. Before release, it undergoes a period of bottle aging.
Tasting notes
In appearance it is a deep ruby red with violet highlights that evolve with age. The bouquet is intense and elegant, with hints of ripe red and black fruits, floral notes and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate it is balanced and structured, with fine, well-integrated tannins. The palate is supple and persistent, with a long, harmonious finish.
Food pairing
It pairs very well with Tuscan cuisine, pasta dishes with meat sauces and grilled red meats. It consistently complements roasts, game and aged cheeses.
When to serve it
A red for convivial lunches and dinners, suited to generous tables where structure and freshness are needed. Serve it in a large-bowled glass and let it breathe for a few minutes to bring out the fruit and spicy nuances. Thanks to its balance and smoothness, it’s also a pleasant choice for those who prefer a refined red without hard edges.
