Description
What kind of wine is it
Rosso San Pio by Mastrojanni is a Tuscan red wine with a dry and expansive character, structured and clean. It is made from a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, developed through careful maturation. After fermentation in stainless steel, it rests in tonneaux and casks and completes its path in the bottle.
Where does it come from
This red hails from the municipality of Montalcino, in the renowned area of the province of Siena. This hilly zone is celebrated as the home of great reds with strong identity. The expression of the Toscana appellation defines the wine’s character and integrates it into a production context with an unmistakable local tradition.
How is it produced
The winemaking process begins with fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature, ensuring precision and purity. At the end of this phase, the wine matures for eighteen months while resting in French oak tonneaux and small barrels. This is followed by a bottle aging of six months to achieve optimal balance.
Tasting notes
It displays a brilliant ruby red color with faint purple highlights. The nose offers intense red fruit aromas accompanied by delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is dry and pleasantly expansive, sustained by remarkable harmony and a persistent finish.
What does it pair with
Thanks to its structure, it harmoniously pairs with flavorful red meat dishes. The spicy notes and the dry component enhance succulent preparations such as braised meat or stew. It is equally suitable to accompany a grilled cut and always offers a consistent pairing for the palate.
When to serve it
Ideal to serve during meat-based meals, it enriches convivial moments with its structured presence. The journey of maturation in wood makes it perfect for occasions looking for a sip with good complexity. It is the right choice for dinners where the spicy notes ensure a lingering and gratifying drink.
