Description

What kind of wine it is

Venis by De Stefani is a white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grown in Veneto. The two varieties are vinified separately at a controlled temperature and then blended after a short aging period in the same fermentation vessels. The result is a crisp and smooth profile, with marked freshness and savoriness, and good breadth on the palate.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the Le Ronche estate in Fossalta di Piave, in the province of Venice. The vineyards are located about 10 km from the Adriatic Sea and about 50 km from the Dolomites, in an area that combines maritime aspects with a more continental setting. The name Venis refers to the mercantile identity of Venice, a city-bridge between the spice-rich East and Europe.

How it is produced

The Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay harvest takes place in early September. After a gentle pressing, the winemaking proceeds separately: Sauvignon Blanc ferments in concrete tanks, while Chardonnay ferments in barriques. The wine ages for several months in the same vessels before bottling, consolidating the style without weighing down the profile.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it appears golden yellow. The nose reveals elderflower, exotic fruit, and a hint of citrus. On the palate, it offers breadth, with evident freshness and savoriness that accompany each sip, maintaining a clean finish consistent with the aromatic sensations.

Food pairings

It naturally pairs with fried fish dishes, thanks to its freshness and savoriness that make it more lively at the table. It is also recommended with seafood first courses, where the aromatic profile and citrus notes support sauces and dressings without overpowering them.

When to serve it

This is a white wine suited to convivial occasions, from aperitif to a full seafood meal. Served well chilled, it enhances the elderflower aroma, the citrus components and the savoriness, always offering precise and balanced drinking, even in more formal settings.
