Description
What kind of wine is it
Giulio Ferrari Rosé Riserva del Fondatore is a Trentodoc Brut Rosé that combines the vibrant intensity of mountain-grown Pinot Noir with the finesse of Chardonnay. This Metodo Classico sparkling wine stands out for its elegant and structured profile, designed to evolve over time thanks to prolonged aging on the lees. Each sip balances precise flavors with a fresh, savory texture, maintaining a dry and well-defined pace. Its identity is completed by a fine perlage, making it ideal to accompany the entire tasting experience.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in the Lunelli family's vineyards, located on the slopes of the mountains surrounding Trento, in the Trentodoc area. This mountain origin gives the wine a taut character in keeping with a style focused on freshness and savoriness. The high-altitude location creates the perfect environment for base wines suited for long aging. The identity of these mountain slopes is essential in shaping the final character of this label.
How it is produced
The grapes are hand-harvested exclusively to create a base centered on Pinot Noir, enriched at the end with Chardonnay. The secondary fermentation occurs using the Metodo Classico, with aging on the lees for at least ten years before release. This prolonged bottle aging contributes to the development of an elegant perlage and profound olfactory complexity, thus retaining a lively, spirited palate. Ferrari’s production process aims to enhance balance and longevity.
Tasting notes
On the eye, it boasts a bright salmon pink color, highlighted by coppery flashes tending towards coral and a continuous stream of fine bubbles. On the nose, it reveals notes of rosehip jam and citrus fruit, intertwined with a distinctive spicy and mineral texture. In the mouth, it is dry, deep, and persistent, displaying a precise balance between freshness and savory elements. The finish is markedly persistent, supported by the structure gained during bottle aging.
Food pairings
Excellent as an aperitif, this sparkling wine pairs beautifully with refined cured meats, flavorful first courses, and aged cheeses. It truly shines when paired with shellfish dishes, where its freshness and savory edge balance the natural sweetness of the meat. At the table, it perfectly accompanies seafood-based dishes with citrus hints, maintaining a profile consistent with its Brut style. A classic and successful pairing is seafood risotto, enhanced by the wine's minerality.
When to serve it
Perfect when seeking a sparkling wine of profound elegance, it adds value to well-curated convivial occasions, from aperitif through to a full meal. Thanks to its solid structure and extensive lees aging, it has excellent potential for further cellar aging. It is the ideal choice for tastings where purity and lingering persistence take center stage. This is a wine that delivers continuity, aromatic definition, and a broad, impressive finish for even the most discerning enthusiasts.
