Umbria IGT Sfide 2014 La Madeleine
Description
Umbria Challenge of La Madeleine was born in vineyards located in the municipalities of Narni and Otricoli in the heart of Umbria.
It is produced exclusively with Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested and selected only by hand, in mid-September. The must follows a vinification in reduction, to preserve the varietal aromas, in stainless steel at controlled temperature. After a short passage in steel, the wine ages in French oak barriques for 10-14 months and another 4 months in bottle, before being marketed. The Wine Research Time protocol follows, which does not include the addition of sulphites.
Sfide di La Madeleine has an intense red color, with notable purple reflections. The nose opens with a large and persistent bouquet of ripe red fruit. In the mouth it is well structured and soft, with ripe and velvety tannins.
Ideal in combination with red meats and cold cuts, cold cuts and medium-aged cheeses.
