Description
What kind of wine is it
Can Rich Rosat is a rosé made from Monastrell grapes grown with sustainable practices and produced by Can Rich. The profile is fresh and straightforward, with good aromatic intensity and a smooth structure supported by lively acidity. The winemaking process includes gentle pressing and fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel to preserve the varietal aromas and the fruit's freshness. Bottling takes place while the wine is still young to keep the fruity character intact.
Where it comes from
The wine originates at the Buscastell estate in Ibiza, in an area with a Mediterranean climate and fine-textured calcareous soils. The proximity to the sea moderates summer temperatures and promotes steady ripening, keeping the aromatic profile balanced. The maritime influence and the chalky nature of the soil bring evident freshness and a recognizable sapidity, making for an easy-to-drink and enjoyable wine.
How it's made
The Monastrell grapes are harvested and gently pressed to obtain a clear, precise must, with limited extraction of color and tannins. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, preserving the varietal character and fruit component. The wine is stabilized and bottled quickly to achieve immediacy, aromatic clarity, and definition on the palate, without long aging.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a pale pink and brilliant hue, a sign of gentle extraction and stylistic finesse. The nose opens up with intense aromas of wild rose and red fruits such as raspberry, currant, and cherry, with sweet hints of fig and candy. On the palate, the attack is soft, then liveliness supports the mid-palate and the sip remains smooth. The finish is dry and tasty, with fruity returns and a balance between roundness and freshness.
Food pairings
This rosé pairs easily with fish carpaccio, tuna or amberjack tartare, vegetarian tapas, and grilled vegetables. Its acidity and savoriness also work well with fresh cheeses, cleansing the palate without overpowering the flavors. It is a good match for Mediterranean seafood dishes, such as fish fideuà, and Spanish cuisine to be shared. Potato tortilla enhances its softness and fruity notes.
When to serve it
Can Rich Rosat is meant to be enjoyed while young, when the aromatic profile is at its clearest and freshness is at its peak. Ideal from spring through summer and for informal occasions, it should be served chilled at 10–12 °C in medium-sized glasses to bring out the aromas. It works well as an aperitif or with light meals and seafood lunches. Thanks to its technical approach and early bottling, it is best within 1–2 years of production.
