Description
The Nobile di Montepulciano Casina di Doro from the Canneto winery is made exclusively from carefully selected Sangiovese grapes, grown in clay-limestone soils at an altitude between 300 and 400 meters above sea level. The south-western exposure of the vineyards contributes to optimal ripening, best expressing the characteristics of the grape variety and the territory.
The winemaking process includes a soft destemming and crushing, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 26°C, with a maceration period of 18 days. The aging takes place in French oak barrels for 24 months, followed by an additional bottle resting period of 12 months, giving the wine complexity and harmony.
It presents itself with an intense ruby red color with slight garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers a complex and enveloping bouquet, with notes of blackberry jam, tobacco, pepper, and oriental spices. On the palate, it is structured and elegant, with mature and well-integrated tannins, providing balance and depth.
It pairs wonderfully with red meats, grilled dishes, stews, and game, as well as aged cheeses like Pecorino di Pienza.
