Description
Produced in the Breede River Valley region of South Africa, this Chenin Blanc by Bergsig represents an elegant expression of the area's Mediterranean terroir. The vineyard is located between 240 and 350 meters in altitude, where the climatic conditions, characterized by harsh winters and a significant temperature fluctuation between day and night, favor a slow and complete grape ripening.
The grapes are hand-picked early in the morning from a single vineyard, and the wine is left on the lees for a period to increase its aromatic complexity. This method helps maintain freshness and structure, enhancing the varietal characteristics of the grape.
On the nose, it opens with a vibrant citrus bouquet, dominated by lime notes and hints of tropical fruit. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with distinct notes of crushed pineapple and lychee, offering a balanced and refreshing drink, ideal for convivial moments.
It pairs excellently with dishes based on chicken, fish, or pasta.
