The flagship wine is the Bolgheri, a fine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, a wine with highlights of red fruits, herbs, and flowers, but with a spiciness and evolutions towards tobacco and vanilla. This wine matures in French oak barrels for 12 months and the following 3 months in the bottle. Also worth trying is the Bolgheri Superiore, where the tannin becomes more integrated and the sip more persistent, with notes of leather and coffee completing a soft and measured flavor.
Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2020 Tenuta Le Colonne
The Bolgheri Superiore of Tenuta Le Colonne is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, grown on soils composed mainly of skeleton and sand.
The vinification takes place in concrete with the use of indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in large, not toasted casks for at least 24 months with a subsequent 3-month stay in the bottle before being marketed.
