Fentimans
Fentimans is the English brand of "botanically brewed" beverages, produced using a botanical fermentation process handed down from generation to generation within the Fentiman family. From soft drinks to tonic waters, each product stems from the search for the finest natural ingredients to deliver superior quality and a distinctive taste.
The story begins in 1905, when Thomas Fentiman, an ironworking craftsman from Cleckheaton, England, granted a loan to a colleague, receiving as collateral a recipe for botanically fermented ginger beer. The loan was never repaid, and Thomas became the owner of the recipe: thus he began producing Fentimans Ginger Beer, sold door to door with a horse and cart in the typical stoneware jars known as "Grey Hens". The dog that still appears on every bottle today is Fearless, Thomas’s faithful companion.
More than a hundred years after its founding, the company is still family-owned and led by Eldon Robson, the founder’s great-grandson. The heart of the method remains the selection of ingredients: Chinese ginger root for the Ginger Beer, quinine from cinchona bark for the tonics and, where possible, European-sourced ingredients such as elderflowers.
The range includes soft drinks such as Ginger Beer, Rose Lemonade, Curiosity Cola and Mandarin & Seville Orange Jigger, and mixers designed to enhance spirits: Premium Indian Tonic Water, Naturally Light Tonic Water, Connoisseurs Tonic Water and Ginger Ale, also ideal for cocktails and mocktails.
Family tradition, selected ingredients and botanical fermentation make Fentimans a benchmark for those seeking high-quality artisanal tonics and soft drinks.
