Torre Mora

Torre Mora is a winery located in Sicily, recently acquired by the Piccini family, which has been producing wine in the Tuscan countryside for over 140 years.

The Torre Mora vineyards are located on the northern slopes of the active volcano Etna and consist of only two plots. The vineyards are cultivated with organic methods and feature native grape varieties, including Nerello Mascalese, Carricante and Catarratto, which are used to produce three red Nerello blends, two rosés and one white.

Torre Mora wines reflect the Sicilian vineyards and a unique territory in the world, Etna, which offers whites with mineral notes such as the Etna DOC Bianco Scalunera , pleasantly balanced rosés such as the Etna DOC Rosato Scalunera , and intense reds with unique elegance such as the Etna Rosso DOC Cauru 2022 .

The Sicilian rosé wine Scalunera di Torre Mora comes from vineyards located on the slopes of Etna. Scalunera means "staircase" and represents the premium line of the estate.

Made up of 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes, the grapes are hand-picked in mid-September. Once in the cellar, they are macerated for 3-4 hours in the pneumatic press, and then fermented at a controlled temperature for 16 days.

The Sicilian Scalunera di Torre Mora wine comes from vineyards located on the slopes of Etna. Scalunera means "staircase" and represents the premium line of the estate.

Made up of 100% Carricante grapes, the grapes are hand-picked in late September. Once in the cellar, they are cooled with carbonic ice, followed by soft pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation for 15 days. The refinement of the wine takes place in steel, with 3 months of permanence on the lees.
