Although South Africa is considered part of the "new world" in wine making, it has been producing wine for over 350 years, well before California or Australia.

Pinotage is undoubtedly the country's most famous red grape variety and the only native one, born from a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsaut, creating red wines with character and elegance. International grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah are also widespread. When it comes to white grapes, French varieties are the most common, including Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and Viognier.

South African wines are very interesting and easy to appreciate. White wines often offer delicate aromas, plenty of freshness and acidity, a relatively light body, and good drinkability, while the reds are full-bodied, rich, and fruit-forward.

From Cape Town to the coastal region, every wine tells a story waiting to be discovered—what are you waiting for?
