Description
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico by Gerardo Cesari originates from vineyards located in the municipalities of Negrar, Marano di Valpolicella, Sant'Ambrogio, Fumane, and San Pietro in Cariano, in the historic Valpolicella region.
It is mainly produced with Corvina Veronese grapes, along with Rondinella and Rossignola grapes, handpicked in crates and left to dry in drying rooms to increase the sugar concentration. Fermentation occurs with maceration in contact with the skins for 20-30 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured for a period of 36 months, 12 of which in Slavonian oak barrels and, to a lesser extent, in French oak barriques and tonneaux.
In the glass, it presents an intense purple-red color. On the nose, it opens with a complex bouquet, with hints of cherry and plum jam, along with sensations of vanilla and toast. On the palate, it is full and harmonious, balanced, warm, and persistent.
Perfect to accompany game, grilled and stewed meat, this Amarone is ideal as a meditation wine.
