Description

What type of wine is it

Anjou Blanc by Thibaud Boudignon is a dry white wine made from Chenin Blanc grapes originating in Anjou. It offers a fresh and approachable style, with floral and fruity notes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with native yeasts, no malolactic fermentation, followed by aging in barrels. This results in an elegant, lively, and complex wine with notes of ripe fruit, honey, and slight smoky nuances, suitable for many food pairings.

Where does it come from

This wine comes from the Anjou appellation.

How it is made

The grapes are harvested by hand with meticulous bunch selection. After gentle pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel with native yeasts, without malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and energy. Maturation continues in barrels to integrate aromatic components and refine the structure.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays a bright straw yellow color with greenish highlights. On the nose, there are scents of white flowers, ripe pear, honey, and faint smoky undertones. The palate is fresh, lively, graceful, and elegant, with a clean finish and a subtle smoky note.

Pairings

The freshness and structure of Anjou Blanc make it ideal for fish and shellfish dishes, such as baked sea bass or grilled shrimp. It also pairs well with vegetarian first courses like asparagus risotto and with delicate white meats, for example, herb-crusted chicken breast. In France, it accompanies Niçoise salad, while in Italy it’s excellent with Ligurian-style clam soup. Its versatility also makes it perfect as an aperitif.

When to serve it

It is recommended to serve Anjou Blanc to showcase its freshness and aromas. Best enjoyed young to keep its vibrancy. Suitable for many occasions, from aperitifs to casual lunches, thanks to its elegant profile and ability to enhance the flavors of food.
