Description
What kind of wine is it?
Barolo Bricco Rocche by Ceretto is a red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from Piedmont, in the area of Castiglione Falletto. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, and after malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in barriques for 12 months before moving to large casks. The result is an intense and structured style, with floral and fruity notes and a well-defined yet smooth tannic texture.
Where does it come from?
It originates from a small and prestigious plot of just over one hectare, located at an altitude of 370 meters in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, in the province of Cuneo. The small size of the vineyard highlights the specificity of the parcel and the selection of the grapes, with a precise and recognizable origin tied to the Bricco Rocche site.
How is it made?
The Nebbiolo grapes are vinified with fermentation carried out exclusively with indigenous yeasts, a choice that enhances the natural microflora. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. Refinement continues with 12 months in barriques and a subsequent period in large casks, a process that integrates precision and structure and preserves the character of the grape variety.
Tasting notes
To the eye, it appears as a brilliant ruby red with garnet highlights. On the nose, there are notes of violet, black cherry jam, and floral potpourri, with a well-defined floral fingerprint. On the palate, it is intense and consistent, supported by velvety tannins that accompany the flavor progression. The finish is long and persistent, with an orderly and continuous close.
Food pairing
It pairs beautifully with a risotto with white truffle, where intensity and structure support the richness of the dish while maintaining precision. It also shines with game dishes, thanks to the velvety tannic texture and persistence, which suit flavorful meats and slow-cooked preparations.
When to serve it?
It is suited to being served when you desire an intense, structured red, ideal for important lunches and dinners where food pairing is key. Aging in barriques and the subsequent time in large casks make it perfect for occasions seeking a defined profile, with noticeable yet smooth tannins and a lengthy finish, ideal for leisurely enjoyment at the table.
