Description
The Barolo Perno Vigna Disa Riserva by Elio Sandri is a red wine of great character, produced with Nebbiolo grapes from the historic Vigna Disa located in the Perno hamlet, in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. The production approach reflects a vision deeply rooted in Langhe tradition, with particular attention to the expression of the territory and the preservation of the varietal identity of Nebbiolo.
Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks with spontaneous fermentations activated by indigenous yeasts, while ageing occurs in large oak barrels for an extended period, allowing the wine to develop complexity and depth. This traditional method ensures a faithful expression of the cru of origin, with a slow and harmonious evolution over time.
On the palate, the wine is powerful yet balanced, with a layered and dynamic structure. The aromas recall ripe red fruits, sweet spices, balsamic notes, and earthy nuances, while the palate reveals dense and well-integrated tannins, refined elegance, and a pleasant ease of drinking despite the overall intensity.
It pairs magnificently with game dishes, stews, or blue and spicy cheeses.
