Description
Castro Ventosa Valtuille is a red wine that embodies the identity of the village of Valtuille through a careful selection of grapes from five different plots, each with unique soil and orientation characteristics. The vineyards, some over a hundred years old, are located in areas such as La Poulosa, El Olivar, El Val, La Rata, and Las Gundiñas, and combine to create a balanced wine that respects its terroir.
The harvest is done by hand over approximately fifteen days, depending on the ripeness of each plot. After destemming, the grapes ferment spontaneously in steel vats, with maceration lasting 25-30 days and daily punch-downs to soak the cap. The wine is then aged for a year in third-use oak barrels, followed by a period of rest and blending before bottling.
On the nose, aromas of small red fruits, dried flowers, and sweet spices emerge, with delicate balsamic notes. On the palate, it is silky and refined, with ripe tannins and a harmonious finish that enhances the wine’s freshness and balance.
Perfect with roast meats, aged cheeses, or spiced dishes from traditional cuisine.
