Bolgheri Superiore DOC Le Gonnare 2013 Fabio Motta

Bolgheri Superiore Le Gonnare by Fabio Motta was born in the vineyard of the same name, located in the Livorno town of Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of the extraordinary Bolgheri area.

It is mainly produced with Merlot and Syrah grapes, manually harvested in small boxes in the first half of September. After traditional fermentation at controlled temperature, the wine is transferred to barriques where it performs malolactic fermentation. It follows aging in the same containers for 18 months and for a further 12 months in the bottle before being placed on the market.

It has an intense garnet red color. The nose opens with elegant hints of ripe red fruits, enriched with notes of black pepper, vanilla and cloves. On the palate it is warm and full-bodied, with a pleasant persistence.

This red wine is particularly suitable to accompany red meats.
