Description
The Bolgheri Rosso Stupore of the Campo alle Comete company, owned by Feudi di San Gregorio, comes from vineyards located in the small town of Sughericcio, in the Livorno town of Castagneto Carducci.
It is produced with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place separately in steel tanks for about 3 weeks. Subsequently the wine ages for 10 months in new and used medium-toasted French oak barrels and tonneaux, and at least for 6 months in bottle.
It has a very intense ruby red color. The nose opens with pleasant fruity notes of fresh plum and cherry that intertwine with spicy hints of cocoa and balsamic aromas of eucalyptus that recall the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with enveloping fruity notes and a pleasantly sapid and fresh finish.
Perfect to accompany cold cuts and aged cheeses, this Bolgheri Rosso is ideal in combination with grilled red meats, sausages and lamb.
