Description

The Bolgheri Superiore W Dedicato a Walter from Poggio al Tesoro, the winery of Marilisa Allegrini, originates from vineyards that lie along the famous Bolgherese road in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci. This wine is dedicated to Walter Allegrini, in memory of the love and passion he devoted to working in the vineyard and to this land.

It is produced with pure Cabernet Franc grapes, hand-harvested in small crates during the last week of September. After a careful selection and soft pressing of the grapes, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, and the malolactic fermentation occurs naturally in barriques. The wine is then aged in first passage French Allier oak barriques over a period of 18 months.

With a deep ruby red color, it boasts on the nose profound sensations of blackberry and blueberry, followed by elegant balsamic notes and black pepper. On the palate, it reveals itself as powerful and structured yet simultaneously a wine of great lightness and agility.

Recommended with meat-based dishes and noble poultry, it is perfect in the company of long-aged cheeses.
