Description
Produced in Spain by the Menade winery, the white wine La Misión is made from Verdeja grapes, an ancient local clone of Verdejo, cultivated using organic methods and sourced from pre-phylloxera vines planted in 1890. It represents the most authentic expression of the territory, with a profile that combines tradition and varietal identity.
The grapes are hand-picked and pressed as whole clusters. Alcoholic fermentation starts spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for about a year in mixed containers: French oak barrels, large vats, and amphoras containing clay from the same vineyards. The wine is then aged in the historical cellar before bottling.
With a lemon-yellow color, it releases aromas of white flowers, citrus peel, fennel, and herbaceous notes. On the palate, it is vertical and savory, with marked acidity and mineral tones of flint; the finish is complex and persistent, a sign of a wine with long evolutionary potential.
Excellent with dishes based on aromatic vegetables, grilled fish, or delicate white meats.
