Champagne Brut AOC 2004 Krug
Description
For the Champagne Krug house, each vintage is the celebration of the distinctive character of a specific vintage. 2004 was characterized, in particular, by an unusual freshness which earned this precious specimen of Champagne the nickname "Shining Freshness". It is the last vintage of the second trilogy in Krug's history.
It is a blend of expressive wines that come from a generous harvest of the classic Champagne grapes, namely Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Pinot Meunier, transported to the cellar after a careful selection. A 12-year break in the dark and cool on your lees allows you to obtain a real wonder in terms of harmony, expression and finesse.
It is cloaked in the glass of a splendid golden yellow. The nose is enhanced with hints of ginger and candied citrus fruits that open the way to quince, meringue pie and amolo plum. In the mouth it combines delicacy and balance with notes of brioche and honey that turn towards an elegant and savory finish.
Sea urchins are the perfect match. Ideal also in the company of artichokes, fresh goat cheese, salmon tartare and caviar.
