Description

Joseph Krug had a dream, to be able to offer the world every year the best Champagne his estates could produce, regardless of climatic conditions: Krug Grande Cuvée is the highest, most sublime and faithful expression of this motto, an absolute quality objective that the Krug house has pursued with inimitable style since 1843. The Édition number corresponds to the number of times the founder of Krug has made his dream a reality.

The assembly of the 173rd edition of Krug Grande Cuvée is composed of 150 wines selected from 13 different vintages. The youngest dates back to 2017, while the oldest to 2001. The reserve wines used to create the 173rd edition of Krug Grande Cuvée come from different plots and 10 different vintages. Their presence gives depth and personality to the final blend.

The Krug Grande Cuvée 173rd edition has an intense golden yellow color. The perlage is fine and persistent. On the nose it releases aromas of toasted bread, brioche, stone fruits, verbena, vanilla custard and a hint of rum baba; on the palate it is rich, creamy and generous, with notes of peaches in syrup, ripe citrus, toasted pine nuts and a bright freshness culminating in a crisp lemon finish.

This Champagne is suitable for a multitude of culinary pairings, from the simplest to the most elaborate. It can be served as an aperitif, accompanied with aged Parmesan and Jabugo ham or with oysters or asparagus with garlic butter.
