Chianti Classico DOCG 2016 Monteraponi
Description
The Monteraponi Chianti Classico originates from organically grown vineyards near the town of Radda in Chianti.
95% of Sangiovese is made up of, while the remaining 5% is represented by Colorino. The vines used are 15 years old and are located at an altitude of between 450 and 570 masl. The soil is stony, defined by an abundant limestone component. The vinification of the grapes takes place in vitrified cement tanks, through the action of indigenous yeasts that spontaneously trigger fermentations, both alcoholic and malolactic. A 16-month refinement follows in large oval wooden barrels. A last period of 1 month in concrete tanks completes the path of this wine.
Ruby red in color, it opens to the nose with a large and persuasive bouquet, with notes of berries, black pepper and wet earth. In the mouth it is voluminous and mineral, characterized by tannins with a velvety consistency and a long and pleasant final persistence.
Perfect to accompany a plate of pici with meat sauce.
