Description
This Chianti Classico Riserva from Castello di Radda is produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown in Radda in Chianti, at an altitude of 350 to 400 meters, and faithfully reflects the character of the area. The vineyards face southeast and southwest and are situated on clay-limestone soils rich in skeleton, which contribute to the aromatic concentration and freshness of the wine.
The vinification process takes place in stainless steel vats with skin maceration for a period ranging between three and four weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation in wood. The aging continues for about twenty months in second and third passage French oak tonneaux and in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by at least nine months in the bottle.
In appearance, it is a clear ruby with garnet highlights, while the nose reveals intense aromas of undergrowth, accompanied by spicy and vanilla notes. On the palate, it is long, balanced, and savory, with a fragrant and persistent finish expressing great elegance.
Ideal to pair with red meats or game, it also goes well with aged hard cheeses.
