Description

This Chianti Classico Riserva is one of the most traditional expressions of the Viticcio winery, produced in Greve in Chianti from Sangiovese grapes with small percentages of Merlot and Syrah. The vineyards, managed under organic farming practices, are located between 230 and 400 meters above sea level with south-southwest, north, and south exposures on clay soils rich in alberese and colombino stones.

The winemaking process involves alcoholic fermentation in steel at 26-30°C and maceration for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place both in steel and wood. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barriques and for another 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks, developing structure and complexity.

It presents a deep red color. On the nose, it opens with notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, leather, and mineral nuances that evolve towards hints of dried fruit and forest. On the palate, it remains fresh, balanced, and well-defined, with a remarkable potential for aging over time.

Perfect with braised dishes, stewed game, roasted beef cuts, or aged hard cheeses.
