Description

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo by Fontodi originates from the vineyard of the same name located in the municipality of Panzano in Chianti, in the province of Florence.

It is made predominantly from Sangiovese grapes with some Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested exclusively by hand. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, with maceration, in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This is followed by 24 months of ageing in Allier and Tronçais oak barriques before bottling.

Ruby red in colour with garnet highlights, this Gran Selezione displays elegant aromas of ripe cherry and violet, enriched by hints of wet earth, leather, and spices. On the palate, it is a warm and velvety wine with excellent persistence.

Excellent served with roasted or stewed meats, it also pairs superbly with game.
