Description

The Chianti Classico La Forra Riserva comes from the vineyards of the historic Tenuta di Nozzole farm, in the municipality of Greve in Chianti, in the province of Florence. The ancient Tenuta di Nozzole dates back to around 1300, and has always been famous for the production of excellent wines.

Produced with 90% Sangiovese grapes, and 10% complementary vines, the Chianti Classico La Forra was born following the grape harvest in the second half of October. After the harvest, the alcoholic fermentation takes place, in stainless steel wine vessels, at a controlled temperature of 28 °. The maceration on the skins lasts 15 days, followed by the malolactic fermentation process in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers at 22-23 °. The aging phase of the wine lasts for 14/16 months, in Slavonian oak barrels and French oak barriques. Once the aging phase in wood is over, the wine is bottled and continues aging for at least 6 months.

Characterized by a splendid deep ruby red color, it is a wine with clearly fruity olfactory scents. The aroma of ripe fruit and fruit compote, thanks to the long barrel aging, is enriched with woody notes, typical of toasted wood. On the palate it is full, dry, characterized by soft tannins.

Ideal to serve with red meats and feathered game, it is perfect to combine with rich cheese dishes.
