Description
Campitello di Monteraponi is a Chianti Classico Riserva originating from a single vineyard – the Campitello vineyard – located in the area of Radda in Chianti. Campitello sits at an altitude of 420 meters and stands out for its clay soil rich in galestro, home to 40-year-old vines.
Following soft pressing and maceration, alcoholic fermentation is spontaneously triggered by indigenous yeasts, as is malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 26 months in 30 hl French oak barrels and for a further 3 months in concrete vats.
It is known for its deep ruby red color and an aroma that plays on fruity and toasted notes. Blackberry, cherry, and raspberry stand out, along with earth, tobacco, and coffee. The palate is full and robust, marked by vibrant freshness and pronounced tannins. Finesse recurs in all its components, resulting in an elegant and consistently impressive taste.
Perfect to pair with a plate of pappardelle with wild boar ragù.
