Chianti Rufina DOCG Riserva Pian dei Sorbi 2015 Marchesi Gondi

The Chianti Rùfina Riserva Pian dei Sorbi was born inside the Tenuta Bossi dei Marchesi Gondi, from the vineyards of Sottomonte and Camerata. The name of this wine originates from a nearby plain, full of rowan trees.

Produced mainly with Sangiovese and Colorino grapes, harvested manually in early October, this Riserva carries out the fermentation phase in steel vats at controlled temperatures. Subsequently the wine is left to rise for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels, and then aged for 6 months in bottle, before being put on the market.

Pian dei Sorbi by Marchesi Gondi has a very intense ruby red color, with faint violet reflections. The nose shows a great personality, with aromas of ripe fruit that blend well with a sweet spice of vanilla and cinnamon, and then close with stronger sensations reminiscent of tobacco and black pepper. In the mouth it is soft and elegant, with the right tannins that are supported by an excellent freshness and a very fruity and persistent finish.

Excellent with roasts, it is perfect to accompany red and white grilled meats.
