Description
This quality Pinot Noir is produced by Haltinger Winzer eG in the German region of Baden-Markgräflerland. The vineyards are located on south-west facing slopes with calcareous-marly soils covered with loess, which favor a slow and complete ripening of the grapes, ideal for this demanding grape variety.
The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a prolonged maceration of 5 weeks, followed by gentle processing to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Aging takes place partly in barrels, giving the wine additional aromatic depth and structural complexity.
On the nose, it expresses intense aromas of blackberry and cherry, typical of Pinot Noir, enriched by vanilla notes deriving from aging in wood. On the palate, it is full-bodied, soft, and well-balanced, with a solid structure and a lingering finish.
It pairs beautifully with grilled meats or rich game dishes, but is also excellent enjoyed on its own.
