Description

What kind of wine it is

Mosesco by Prunotto is a red wine made from Dolcetto grapes, offering a full and balanced style with a vinous, floral aromatic profile and a pleasantly almond-like finish. The winemaking process involves fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature-controlled maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in Slavonian oak barrels and bottles. This is a straightforward wine, defined by pure fruit and a measured use of oak.

Where it comes from

Mosesco originates from the vineyards of the Prunotto estate, located in the heart of the Dolcetto d’Alba denomination. The origin is distinctively Piedmontese, from an area where viticulture, especially for this grape variety, is historically rooted and recognized. The position within the production zone allows for a typical profile centered on fruit immediacy and good structure. All grapes come exclusively from the estate’s own vineyards, ensuring quality and constant control at each stage of cultivation.

How it is produced

The Dolcetto grapes are harvested and carefully selected by hand before being fermented with maceration in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation temperature is kept between twenty-seven and twenty-eight degrees, and maceration lasts about nine days to guarantee a balanced extraction of color and structural elements. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in Slavonian oak barrels and then refines for a further four months of bottle aging before release.

Tasting notes

Visually, it displays a ruby red color with purple highlights, indicating a vibrant and youthful tone. The bouquet is elegant, showing cherry notes along with hints of pear and peach, accompanied by a subtle wood nuance. On the palate, it is full and balanced, with a steady progression and a finish characterized by the typical almond note. Overall, it combines a pleasant freshness of fruit and good flavor continuity, while maintaining a clear aromatic definition.

Food pairings

It pairs easily with appetizers and is ideal with first courses and white meats. Thanks to its full yet balanced sip and dry finish, it harmoniously supports various culinary preparations with finesse. Its inherent fruity component interacts perfectly with foods, enhancing flavors without overpowering them. It's a versatile wine, elegantly elevating complete meals and offering a satisfying, well-proportioned tasting experience.

When to serve

This wine is designed to be enjoyed on numerous occasions, thanks to its easy drinkability and well-defined aromatic profile. It is perfect for informal gatherings and everyday dinners where a red wine is desired that combines immediacy with fruit integrity. Its measured structure makes it ideal for accompanying complete lunches without ever tiring the palate. It’s the perfect choice for those looking for an authentic taste and everyday versatility at the table.
