Description
1502 Mappa di Imola by Leonardo da Vinci is a Pignoletto Spumante Brut made from Grechetto Gentile grapes grown in the hillside area around Imola. The vineyards are located between 150 and 400 meters above sea level, mainly facing southeast, on predominantly calcareous and clay soils, trained with the Sylvoz and double Guyot systems.
Vinification involves fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks for about eight days to preserve the freshness and aromatic expression of the grapes. Afterwards, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in an autoclave lasting about two months, which contributes to the formation of its sparkling character and pleasing liveliness.
It presents a clear straw yellow color with bright golden highlights. On the nose, it reveals a fresh, ample, and fruity bouquet with delicate notes of golden apple. On the palate, it is typically aromatic, delicate, and smooth, supported by a pleasant freshness that accompanies a balanced and enjoyable sip.
Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs elegantly with fish-based dishes and light Mediterranean cuisine.
